Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Friends!!!
I'm linking up today with
Erika, Andrea & Narci for my
Friday Favorites.

#1
She's growing up too fast!
On Tuesday Bailey and I stopped by our local library for her
to check out a couple of books.  She begs to go to the library!
#isthisreallymychild

Wednesday night at church Madison did the devotion for her class.
Once Bailey found out Madison was doing a devotion then she got busy on hers. Madison was sweet enough to let Bailey do her devotion also. My niece snapped this pic of her.
I can't believe she did it!

Grandma Sandra sent Bailey a little briefcase and this girl
loves it!  Thanks Grandma!

Dr. Appointment Today
I'm off to see Dr. Barker today at Raleigh Orthopaedic.
I had hip surgery almost 3 months ago.
I've done really well...not 100% yet, but I'm well on my way!

Love this SWEATER!

My mother-in-law did excellent when she picked out
this sweater for my Christmas gift.
So comfy and warm for these long winter days.
As you can see I'm trying to work on my selfies.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Mondays come to quick and Fridays just
don't come quick enough!!!
I hated to see our weekend come to an end because
it was kind of relaxing.
Saturday morning we slept in(except for Daddy he had to
go in to work for a few hours) and as soon as this girl got up
she was ready to make a mess with this
Crazy Sand!
You know how it is...it was fun for about 30 minutes and
then it was on to something else!
Nothing that the vacuum cleaner won't clean up!

Madison went in to work at 12:00 so she was gone most of the day.
As soon as she got home we got ready to go grab something
to eat at Outback.
We are waiting patiently for our cheese fries!

 Sweet couple!

Our Sunday selfie on the way to church.

After church Bailey got back into her pajama pants...
definitely my child! :)
She is enjoying her headphones and so are we!

Oops...she spotted me taking pics of her!

She played most of the day with her friend, Emma and
then played even more with her new camper for
her American Girl dolls.

It was a relaxing weekend that went by way too fast, but
thankful for the time I was able to spend with my family.

Have a great week.

Friday Favorites.

Bailey has gone to bed for 2 nights by herself.
I blogged on Tuesday about my Resolutions and Goals for 2015.
One of my goals is to start putting Bailey to bed on time and by herself...I am pleased to announce that she has gone to bed on time and by herself for 2 nights.
Looks like we are making progress.
I laid down with her on Wednesday night to read a book, get some sugar and say her prayers.  She was out like a light within 20 minutes. Daddy laid down with her last night and she did well for him also.  This is bitter sweet.  Hope we can keep it up because there's a nice surprise for her in a few weeks.
Only time will tell.

Baby, It's Cold Outside...
For the past two days these have been the temperatures in
eastern N.C.
If it's going to be this cold...I NEED SNOW!
Looking forward to that high of 46 today.

#3
Madison asked for one of these globe heaters for her bathroom,
but I was a little hesitant to purchase one since she would be using it upstairs.  Last week we were at Target and they were on clearance.  Regularly $29.99, but now $19.99.
So we got 2...one for her bathroom and one for mine!
They come in different colors and these babies work good!

#4
I ordered lots of these monogrammed pearl earrings for
Christmas gifts and I of course ordered myself a pair.
They are super cute and fun.
Love wearing mine!
They also came very quickly.

Prince Farming is the new Bachelor!
So excited for the new season of the Bachelor
with this hunk right here!
He's looking for a wife...someone to spend the rest of his life with in the middle of no where.  Ready to see if he finds love!

Happy Friday!

Resolutions and Goals for 2015

Today I'm going to share my
Resolutions and Goals for the new year!
I usually don't make any big resolutions, but I thought
this would be fun and inspiring to look back on in a year.
Maybe since I'm actually putting it in writing I will stick to it!
Here goes...

Don't Sweat The Small Stuff
This is way easier said than done!
I want to work harder on the positive things
and not so much on the negative.
No need to cry over spilled milk...as
my mom always says!

Seek HIM More
I need to work harder each and everyday at
putting GOD first and foremost in my life.
That includes making HIM more present in my relationship with the hubby, my daughters, friends, my dance studio and even complete strangers.
Instead of picking up my phone I need
to pick up my Bible more.

Bedtime

Bailey has a bedtime around 8:30, but here
lately it's been later and later.
She has to have someone to lay down with her until she falls completely asleep.
She doesn't want anyone else to lay down with her, but
Mama.
This is precious time that I've enjoyed with her, but
people she's in the 2nd grade.  It's time for her to be tucked in and go to sleep by herself.
It's difficult when I get home in the evenings from work and there is so much to do plus I have to lay down with her.  Once I lay down with her and she finally falls asleep then everyone else in the house is fast asleep, I wasn't able to have any time with the hubby or to talk with Madison about her day, the kitchen needs to be cleaned up, there are clothes to wash and fold and so I stay up late getting it done or it puts me behind for the next day because these things have to be done!
So in 2015 I need to work on getting her to bed at 8:30 and by herself.
This will not be an easy task.
Suggestions are welcome!

Date Night
The hubby and I spend time together, but usually our girls are with us.  We are those parents that our kids pretty much go everywhere with us.  I love that.
If we go out to eat...they or at least one is with us.
If we go to a movie...they are with us.
If we go to the beach or anywhere...they are with us.
We need to make a conscious effort
to go out...just us... every once in a while.
Nothing fancy; just quality time without kids for a few hours.

That's it folks!
This will be interesting to look back on and see if
I was able to follow through on these resolutions.

This is how I need to look at things!
Bring on 2015!!!
I can do this!

Skating Fun & Volleyball Tournament

We had a great first weekend of 2015.
Technically our last day of Christmas break was Friday so we set out to have
a little fun.
SKATING!
As a child I have lots of memories at the
Round-A-Bout Skating Center in Goldsboro.
Friends and I would meet up there on the weekends and skate.
We had the best time...my how times have changed.
So Friday we stopped at Chik-fil-a for lunch then we went roller skating.
Madison and I rented speed skates, but poor Bailey had to wear those
brownies!
 She's still adorable!

Bailey has been skating a couple of times, but
she is very cautious and scared.
Madison and I spent a lot of time holding her hands, but
a few times it ended like this.

Bailey got frustrated and was ready to sit out for a few minutes.

The girls and I love to play air hockey.
I beat Madison twice!
Bailey kept begging Madison to let her win.
We had a great time!

On Saturday we were up really early....like 5 a.m.
to travel to a volleyball tournament in Henderson.
So happy that my friend, Tonya was there to help me cheer
our girls on!

Madison is pictured here with her friends Kelsie and Lindsey.
These girls did great in their first tournament of the travel season.
They ranked 3rd place, but hoping to do much better next time.
It was a long day, but we had a nice surprise when we got home...
Daddy was home
after being gone on a week long hunting trip.
So glad to have him back!

Christmas break is over and it's back to
school and work.
So excited for the new year and the blessings in
store for our family!

2014 In Review

Happy New Year!
I can't believe 2014 is already behind us.
Let's look back on what a great year we had.

JANUARY
 Bailey started piano lessons!
She's pretty good at it...I think!
Madison and I traveled to Winston Salem to the
Dance Revolution Convention.
Lots of fun!

 Madison killed her first deer.

 It snowed!

You haven't lived unless you've been to the "Hill" in
La Grange to go sledding.  Lots of friends joined
us there to play in the snow.

We traveled to volleyball tournaments for Madison to do what
she loves!

FEBRUARY
 Madison played more volleyball tournaments.

Bailey & Emma enjoyed an afternoon of skating.

 It snowed...again!

We made and consumed a lot of SNOW CREAM!

I celebrated Valentine's Day with my loves!

MARCH
 More Volleyball Tournaments...

And they finally won- 1st PLACE!!!

We enjoyed a Casting Crowns concert with our church family.
We took our annual spring trip to Myrtle Beach.
The girls love visiting Alligator Adventure.

APRIL
 The Easter Bunny came!

My pretty girls all dressed up for Easter Sunday.

We celebrated Grandma Rhee's 90th Birthday!
Isn't she beautiful!

MAY
 Madison turned 15!

We celebrated with a little cookout!

Our family always enjoys Memorial Day Weekend at
the beach.

We had our 9th annual spring dance recital!
My girls did great!

JUNE
June means it's the beginning of SUMMER!
These girls made some cash by selling my
famous lemonade. :)

We spent a lot of time at the beach.

 Madison got her driving permit!
YIKES!

Bailey had her 1st grade end of year awards program where
she took home a few awards!
So proud of her.

JULY
We spent a week down at the beach and of course
visited the Aquarium for fun.

We also rode out a hurricane at the beach!

Madison learned how to "skurf" behind the boat.

We celebrated July 4th at the beach with family and friends.

We sent Madison off to summer church camp.

AUGUST
Bailey turned 7!
She had a couple of friends over for a sleep over!

We celebrated with a hotdog cookout.

Back to school for this 2nd grader...

and this high school sophomore!

SEPTEMBER
 It's the beginning of Fall.
One of my favorite times of year!

 These girls went Ice Skating!

 We played some tennis!

I started making jewelry...who knew!!!

OCTOBER
Madison job shadowed for Bailey's 2nd grade class.

Madison dressed all up for Nerd day at school.

With my surgery approaching I figured I better go ahead
and get most of my Christmas decorations up.

We let the girls skip school on a Friday to go to
the State Fair!

My bestie welcomed a baby girl in October.
Sweet Sophia!

 We carved pumpkins!

On Thursday, October 30th I had arthroscopic hip surgery.

And the next day we took my sweetie...
trick-or-treating.
I stayed in the car from house to house!

NOVEMBER
 I celebrated my 36th birthday!

Bailey lost a tooth after my birthday dinner.
She let Daddy do the honors and pull her tooth.

 We attended Madison's athletic banquet.

Bailey lost another tooth this time at Madison's
athletic banquet and Daddy got to do the honors again.

Madison started working at Sweetiepies Cupcakery.

Our elves arrived from the north pole with cute
pajamas for Bailey.

We enjoyed Thanksgiving with our families!

DECEMBER
Madison dressed up as OLAF and rode in the
Kinston Christmas Parade.

We loved seeing Disney on Ice-FROZEN!

We went to Meadow to ride the train and enjoy the
Christmas lights.

Landon & Madison got all dressed up and
attended the Christmas dance.

Santa brought lots of goodies to our house!

We ended 2014 right here!
No place I'd rather be!

It's been a great year full of ups, downs, tears, laughter, but
most importantly
LOVE!
We are truly blessed thanks to our
Lord and Savior,
JESUS CHRIST!
I encourage you to seek HIM in 2015!
