Resolutions and Goals for 2015

Today I'm going to share my
Resolutions and Goals for the new year!
I usually don't make any big resolutions, but I thought
this would be fun and inspiring to look back on in a year.
Maybe since I'm actually putting it in writing I will stick to it!
Here goes...

Don't Sweat The Small Stuff
This is way easier said than done!
I want to work harder on the positive things
and not so much on the negative.
No need to cry over spilled milk...as
my mom always says!

Seek HIM More
I need to work harder each and everyday at
putting GOD first and foremost in my life.
That includes making HIM more present in my relationship with the hubby, my daughters, friends, my dance studio and even complete strangers.
Instead of picking up my phone I need
to pick up my Bible more.

Bedtime

Bailey has a bedtime around 8:30, but here
lately it's been later and later.
She has to have someone to lay down with her until she falls completely asleep.
She doesn't want anyone else to lay down with her, but
Mama.
This is precious time that I've enjoyed with her, but
people she's in the 2nd grade.  It's time for her to be tucked in and go to sleep by herself.
It's difficult when I get home in the evenings from work and there is so much to do plus I have to lay down with her.  Once I lay down with her and she finally falls asleep then everyone else in the house is fast asleep, I wasn't able to have any time with the hubby or to talk with Madison about her day, the kitchen needs to be cleaned up, there are clothes to wash and fold and so I stay up late getting it done or it puts me behind for the next day because these things have to be done!
So in 2015 I need to work on getting her to bed at 8:30 and by herself.
This will not be an easy task.
Suggestions are welcome!

Date Night
The hubby and I spend time together, but usually our girls are with us.  We are those parents that our kids pretty much go everywhere with us.  I love that.
If we go out to eat...they or at least one is with us.
If we go to a movie...they are with us.
If we go to the beach or anywhere...they are with us.
We need to make a conscious effort
to go out...just us... every once in a while.
Nothing fancy; just quality time without kids for a few hours.

That's it folks!
This will be interesting to look back on and see if
I was able to follow through on these resolutions.

This is how I need to look at things!
Bring on 2015!!!
I can do this!

  1. We have an 8 year old and a 4 year old and we laid down with them both for bedtime, not always until they were fully asleep, but for a substantial time every night. Probably at least 6 months ago, I was in your boat and was like, no more!! So what we did, which has worked great, was we did a reward system for a laying night. So, we read stories and then it is lights out and we say goodnight. If we do that and they are good about it every night during the week, on Saturday night we lay with them. So if they cried and threw a fit or kept calling us in during the week, then they would lose the Saturday night laying night, but if they did it we would lay until they were asleep or almost anyway on Saturday night. It was a good compromise because it is kind of nice to have that snuggle at the end of the day, so we still get to do it once a week, but it isn't something I have to do every night! Good luck!!
